Imbolc Rituals

Imbolc
Imbolc is celebrated on February 2. It is pronounced im-olk. In our tradition Imbolc is the festival of spring, when the sun, born in the depths of winter, touches the earth with its first rays of warmth.

Fire represents the tender light of new life, and poetic inspiration. At this time we honor our mother’s, our grandmother’s and our great grandmother’s, with offerings of thanks for giving us life. White candles, planted in water, are infused with our love, devotion and dreams, and then lit.
