Celtic Spirituality
Celtic Spirituality Allows oneself to experience eternal nature. Reconnect to your ancestral lineage, and trigger the unfolding of knowledge from within. Connect yourself to the keeper-people of wisdom and ancient teachings. Build your spirituality, values and talents so that they protect you and your existence as a sentient being. Center yourself and follow a natural course of action.

It will not help you to rub a lucky charm or complain about all the wretched examples of humanity that are out there, you must take action to change things.

Imagine being able to practice spirituality freely, without guilt, or questioning “am I doing it right?” This is possible only when you are the only one, the supreme authority, of that spirituality. This is possible should you choose to walk its path.
The path of the Celt is not a religious path, nor is there any church. Yet, spirituality is still recommended. Whether you choose to attend a church, or practice spirituality freely, spiritual development helps one to define his/her place within the universe. Make no mistake, though there are materials available for self-study that are in fact helpful, the best indicator for what is right for you (your spirituality), is you. If you feel you need guidance, seek guidance, and if you feel you are capable of practicing spirituality in your own unique way, and then by all means practice in your own way. The choice, the responsibility… is yours alone.

Religion has been in dispute for centuries. Nobody actually agrees whose religion is real or whose is false. Because of this, the Clans of the Earth Life Tradition do not focus on deities or gods as a focal point for spirituality. Nor are they necessary to practice it. This is obvious in the fact that not all religions can be correct in their choice of god, yet they all have spirituality.

Spirituality is an inner feeling that we are connected to the universe. It is our umbilical cord to the universe itself, and being connected we are immortal. We are connected to life through the umbilical cord of our mother, just as our mother is connected through her mother and so on. But it does not stop there, far from it, instead it continues on until finally we trace ourselves back to the earth itself, and again continues on to the fabric of time and to the universe. Even though our connection is invisible to us, we can still feel it – this is spirituality.

A Celt has a spiritual strength rooted from deep within. He/she is rooted to the sacred power of the rivers, hills, animals and groves. He/she honors sovereignty within all beings…. and the land itself. For instruction on deepening one’s spirituality, see the Druids’ Vigil.

Each person should have a personal goal to deepen one’s spiritual awareness. Spiritual journeying is a way of giving priority to your personal needs. It is kin to the Vigil, but with a focus on self. It has the realistic outcome of growth, wisdom, and a new way of experiencing yourself. Just as negative thoughts and self-cursing locks a person into the roots of abuse and harmful conditioning, positive reinforcements, like dragons-who guard our inner treasure- , can protect and allow us time to heal. So build your spirituality and values so that they protect the positive treasures you may have, and seek out your spirit animal(s) for assistance should you require it.

Spirituality, like agriculture differed region to region, it was an intensely localized affair. Archeology and writings from the early Celts give us scant details of religious and spiritual philosophy and practice. Modern Celticism however, finds inspiration in these snippets of information.

Unlike many religions, we do not have a Church. Instead, we gather in lodges and groves, or wherever we choose to do so at the time Spirituality is essential to personal growth and inner peace. It is the most sacred aspect of our True Selves.

The Dark One is the inner self that seeks negative energies; self delusion, etc.
