Celtic Baptism
Rituals of Celtic Baptism were known to be practised as far back as the 12th Century. The following is an example of what a Baptism ritual, during this time, consists of.
 
 
 
Baptism Ritual
A group, usually family and friends would gather in an outdoor area which is near trees, or possibly in a grove (nmeton) or a clearing. During the gathering, mothers wore green and the children wore white. Three candles were lit and people would recite a nature poem.
